Money Purchase Plans

A money purchase plan is a defined contribution plan under which the employer is obligated to contribute a stated percentage of an employee's compensation to the plan each year. The fixed nature of the employer's annual funding requirement is the primary difference between money purchase plans and profit sharing plans. The maximum deduction limits applicable to money purchase plans are also higher than those applicable to profit sharing plans...
